Hudson Line Substations Phase 1 & 2

The purpose of the work is to provide Services for Power/Communication and Signals Infrastructure Improvements as part of Sandy Restoration efforts along Hudson Line Substations and Brewster Substations, as part of Metro North Railroad (MNR) contract. The Power lines and Communication and Signals (C&S) systems are being raised to above 100-year flood levels to increase resiliency to any future flood events. Flood related improvements are being performed along 30 mile stretch of Metro North Hudson Line and Brewster Line. Work consists of installing new Power and C&S equipment like transformers, sectionalizing switches, snowmelters, communication equipment/cables, RTUs, reactors, etc.

INFOTRAN as a sub-consultant, is providing Construction Management and Inspection Services for Power/Communication and Signals Infrastructure Improvements as part of Sandy Restoration. INFOTRAN’s scope of work includes performing special and condition assessment inspections, Inspection of power line & C&S system relocation to above 100-year flood levels, site surveys and evaluations, damage evaluation of structures and faulty systems, cost estimates and specifications for urgent repairs and miscellaneous construction, scope development services for various projects, and structural/civil engineering services for a range of structures including buildings, station platforms, tracks, roads, drainage, and associated site works.
