Repair Local Law 11 Conditions at Various Developments
Sidewalk sheds are temporary structures built to protect people or property. Property owners must install a shed when constructing a building more than 40 feet high, demolishing a building more than 25 feet high. NYCHA Local Law 11 is designed to prevent any future injuries or deaths from pieces of building facades falling onto city streets.
INFOTRAN as a subconsultant was awarded the project by NYCHA to provide professional engineering services for the reconstruction of sidewalk shed and Local Law 11 in five boroughs of New York.
The scope of work included but not limited to:
• Inspection of sidewalk shed installation
• Coordinating with inspectors, contractor and subcontractor in the field checking daily reports of inspectors
• Supervision and inspection of new curbs, sidewalks, and pedestrian ramps, performing slump, air and density tests for sidewalk foundation
• Servicing sidewalk violations to property owners, updating sidewalk cards, inspecting sidewalk removal and replacement to ensure ADA compliance.
Construction management was performed in accordance with NYDOB & NYCDOT standards and regulations.
