PMC CCM & Inspection Services for Design-build Accessibility Upgrade at Eight Stations
As part of the Capital Plan, the MTA’s accessibility project including eight stations throughout the five boroughs highlights the Authority’s commitment to systemwide accessibility. According to this project, all the stations will be ADA compliant. InfoTran, Engineers, P.C. as a sub-consultant is providing Project Management Consultant Services (PMC)/Consultant Construction Management and Inspection Services for Design-Build Contract – A37151-A Accessibility Upgrade at Eight (8) Stations.
The scope of work includes Installing 2 to 4 elevators per station depending on platform configuration. Major structural and excavation work for expanding station envelope and/or mezzanines to accommodate the elevators. Extending and re-framing of platforms and/or mezzanines, at above or below grade stations for construction of new elevator machine rooms, elevator shafts expanded fare control areas, and/or displacement of station facilities. Upgrading electrical power to the station to support additional elevators and new elevator machine rooms. Upgrading station communications systems to support fire alarm, intercom, and CCTV systems incorporated into new elevators. Relocating of existing public utilities in street and transit utilities in platforms and mezzanines. Reconstructing of entire platform edges and/or reconstructing of ADA boarding areas. Re-aligning Track with new platform edges.
