CCM Services Abutment Wall Repair At Coney Island Yard And Bridge Replacement At St. Marks Avenue
The project is to provide CCM support to MTA C&D in the management of the Design-Build project for the installation of a new retaining wall system in the Coney Island Yard/Avenue X Yard in the Borough of Brooklyn and the replacement of the St. Marks Avenue Viaduct Bridge located between Saint Marks Avenue and Prospect Place in the Borough of Brooklyn, including replacement of track, ties, and related track equipment. Work for the Coney Island abutment wall will include the design and construction of a new retaining wall system, including supporting electrical, signals, traction power, track, and environmental work. Work on the abutment wall will need to be coordinated with other projects occurring in the yard, such as the Sandy Repair and Resiliency work. The current conditions of the abutment wall supporting Tracks B5 and B6 at Bent #500 is in very poor structural condition. Its deficiencies include horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and spider cracks, the bearing section is severely deteriorated with missing and spalled concrete, and the girders and the girders’ flanges are severely corroded with major section loss.
INFOTRAN as a sub-consultant is awarded to provide inspection services during the construction phase. Our team performs daily surveillance and inspections to verify that the work is being completed in accordance with the requirements of the Construction Contract Documents. Prepares daily inspection reports showing the Construction Contractor’s labor force, the location of the construction activities, and the actual work being performed and submits it to the MTA C&D Project Manager. Rejects work that does not conform to the requirements of the Construction Contract Document and immediately provides written notification to MTA C&D and the Construction Contractor of such rejection. Provide updates to the monthly MTA C&D Project Status Reports. Immediately reports to MTA C&D any field conditions that deviate from the contract drawings and make recommendations for corrective action.
