Design-Build Services for Systemwide Escalator

INFOTRAN is providing architectural support services for the design and construction phase services on the Design and Construction of four escalators at two stations and associated state-of-good repair Work related to the E30643-Design-Build Services for Systemwide Escalator Replacement project.  The Work will be performed at the DeKalb Avenue Station, which serves the B, Q, and R trains, and at 161st Street Station, which serves the 4 train. The scope of the Work is summarized as follows: Replacement of two (2) existing escalators, ES308 and ES309, at the DeKalb Avenue Station in the Borough of Brooklyn. Replacement of two (2) existing escalators, ES113 and ES114, at 161st Street Station (Yankee Station) in the Borough of the Bronx.

INFOTRAN’s scope of work included escalator replacement at 161st Street Station (Yankee Station) in the Borough of the Bronx. The major elements of Work include the following:

• Removal of existing escalators
• Installation of new escalators
• Reconfiguration of existing escalator machine rooms to support the new escalators.
• Upgrades to station lighting, communications systems, CCTV systems, water service, sprinkler system and electrical power support.
• State of good repair Work, including replacement of architectural finishes, structural steel, and concrete repairs, and waterproofing.

In addition, before joining INFOTRAN, Francisco Ruela, AIA, LEED AD served as the design manager, he developed and submitted all the required design units (DU) and managed the project until 7/8/2022. submission required for this project, including 60%, 100% and IFC for both stations. Both stations will be open to the public and fully functional throughout design and construction. One escalator and associated systems are to remain in service throughout the contract, and the demolition and removal of existing escalators will not occur until the new escalator is fabricated and available for installation.
