INFOTRAN Engineers & Architects is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary engineering and architecture firm specializing in transportation infrastructure, rail and mass transit, institutional, and public-sector projects. We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer II to join our expanding Architecture Department.

Our current portfolio includes projects for major public agencies such as Amtrak, MTA Construction & Development, MTA New York City Transit, NJ TRANSIT, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Rutgers University, the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) and NJ Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC)

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as an on-site Construction Inspector overseeing contractor and subcontractor activities at NYCT stations.
  • Inspect civil, mechanical, electrical, communications, and related construction to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and NYCT requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractor supervision and project staff to identify and resolve field issues.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports, field reports, and required project documentation.
  • Verify approved materials and maintain Certificates of Compliance, MSDS/SDS, test reports, inspection tags, and related records.
  • Coordinate surveying, material testing, and other specialty inspection activities.
  • Monitor job-site safety and quality-control requirements and document deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Verify installed quantities to support payment applications and change orders.
  • Coordinate field inspection activities and review the work of other Inspectors/Representatives.
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineers / PMC team regarding construction progress, quality, safety, schedule, and contract compliance.
  • Respond to project-site callbacks and emergency situations, as required.
  • Maintain organized inspection records and assist with other field and project-management activities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • OSHA-30 certifications required. MTA Track Safety and PMG123 preferred.
  • 1-5 years of construction experience working with NYCT / MTA / LIRR / Amtrak or similar public agency projects preferred.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities to coordinate with project staff, contractors, and client representatives.
