INFOTRAN Engineers & Architects is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary engineering and architecture firm specializing in transportation infrastructure, rail and mass transit, institutional, and public-sector projects. We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer II to join our expanding Architecture Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex transportation and infrastructure projects that improve how people travel throughout the Northeast while developing your career alongside experienced architects and engineers.

Our current portfolio includes projects for major public agencies such as Amtrak, MTA Construction & Development, MTA New York City Transit, NJ TRANSIT, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Rutgers University, the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) and NJ Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC)

What You’ll Do

As an Architectural Designer, you will work closely with Project Architects, Engineers, and Principals throughout every phase of project delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare architectural drawings and construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Develop BIM models and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Participate in planning, programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty consultants.
  • Perform field investigations, existing conditions surveys, and site observations.
  • Assist with technical reports, code reviews, and architectural studies.
  • Support construction administration by reviewing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Participate in internal QA/QC reviews.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • 5–10 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience preparing construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Rail and transportation experience is strongly preferred. However, we also welcome architects with experience in aviation, healthcare, industrial, higher education, government, commercial, or mission-critical facilities.

Software Experience

Preferred proficiency with:

  • Autodesk Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Microsoft Office

Experience with MicroStation is a plus but is not required.
