CM Services for AMTRAK NY Penn Access Project

The purpose of the project is to provide improved access from MNR’s NHL territory— the East Bronx, Westchester County, and southern Connecticut—to PSNY and the west side of Manhattan. The Proposed Project would address the Substantially reduce travel times to and from Manhattan, introduce convenient, direct rail service to communities underserved by mass transit, Support economic development in the East Bronx, improve mobility and regional connectivity, Enhance operational flexibility and resiliency of MNR service

The scope of work under this contract consists of design review, construction Support Services like Preliminary Design and Engineering review, constructability review and project support services of the Design Build Approach. The elements of design review will include Tracks, Overhead Contact System (OCS), AC Traction Power, DC Traction Power, Signal and Train Controls, Communications, Civil, Bridge Structures, Geotechnical, stations and temporary at grade crossing.

INFOTRAN as a sub-consultant is providing construction management support services to AMTRAK as a part of large Penn access project. INFOTRAN responsibilities includes providing engineering support during the Construction Support Phase to review proposed plans, specifications, change requests, by the Engineer and Design/Build Contractor. The job will include performing inspection services, review the design/build contractor proposed plan and provide recommendations to assist Amtrak in identifying required protection of railroad traffic services, power outages and/or track outages. INFOTRAN team will attend biweekly meetings as required for the purpose of reviewing issues that may arise with contractor.
